Yes Outlander fans, 'tis true! This necklace is cast from an actual antique seal from Clan Fraser of Lovat. When we first spotted this gorgeous seal we could not believe our luck! To find a real antique treasure from the real clan of Outlander's fictitious Jamie Fraser, what are the chances?! The shield consists of three cinquefoils, also known in heraldy as fraises or strawberries. Over time, the French 'fraises' morphed into the clan's name, Fraser. There is the stag's head we have all come to know and love sitting regally atop the shield as the family crest. And above the stag's crest is the infamous Clan Fraser motto, Je Suis Prest, or I Am Ready! It is a lovely piece of Scottish Highlander history, as well as fabulous memento for Outlander fans. If you have not seen Outlander (so such people really exist?!?), then you can still love this piece for it's strong motto of readiness, and the stag in heraldry symbolizes peace and harmony, and one who will not fight unless provoked. A sage motto and symbolism that surely can carry one through life well protected.
This piece is hand cast from a mold made from the original antique seal, in Argentium sterling silver, set in 14k rose gold, on a sterling Argentium cable chain of 24 inches, but can be shortened if desired. Cast seal dimensions: 21.5mm x 17mm (including bale)
