This one highlights a Georgian-era (est. circa late 1700's - early 1800's) citrine, hand-etched with two Thistles. The Thistle is the national flower of Scotland. According to Scottish lore, it is said that an invading Norse army was attempting to sneak up at night upon a Scottish army's encampment. During this operation one barefoot Norseman had the misfortune to step upon a thistle, causing him to cry out in pain, thus alerting Scots to the presence of the Norse invaders, and enabling the Scots to win that battle. While beautiful in their own right, the thistle protects is floral cap with prickly stems and a protective surrounding, thus it symbolizes protection, bravery/courage, endurance, and loyalty.
