A substantial hand-carved amethyst, this circa late 1700’s/early 1800’s family crest depicts a mighty oak tree broken mid trunk. Despite this set-back, the tree is re-blooming with new shoots complete with tiny leaves & acorns! Each young branch is supported by a human arm/hand, showing the harmony between man and nature. In heraldry, the oak tree symbolizes strength, continuous growth & fertility.
