Where do we begin with Vixen? When we first met her, she was part of a rock crystal desk seal with decisive Art Deco lines and a decidedly cheeky flair. Clearly someone went to the trouble of having this desk seal commissioned for either themselves or someone very 'special', yes? Given her Deco-era lineage, and the changing times she was born into - people were moving away from hand-written and hand-sealed envelopes to self-adhesive envelopes and telephones, we can only surmise that Vixen was meant to be for very special correspondence...perhaps special love letters between Vixen and a certain someone? No matter the real story, we fell in love with her clean lines and the bold presentation. A Vixen is a female fox, so we are left wondering if this referring to a very clever, crafty woman (this term was used as far back as 1520), or perhaps a play on words? However one chooses to interpret this fun and flirty seal's meaning, our client commissioned her to be set in a bold setting, so we created an 18k yellow gold setting that hugs Vixen in all the right places, and we added a POP of color with a halo surround of hot pink rubies set in 18k white gold.
