Our Maiden's Crest ring is the stuff of dreams! To find a lady's coat of arms is unusual to begin with, but to find one is such pristine condition, and with such fabulous motifs is even rarer! Hailing from England, its centerpiece is a Georgian-era piece of chalcedony which has a lovely pale blue hue in certain lighting. The antique intaglio is hand-carved in painstaking detail, and depicts the shield of an unmarried lady (lozenge-style). Often times an unmarried lady would be given her own seal, but her ‘shield’ would typically be a lozenge or diamond-shaped shield such as this one, denoting she was a woman and thus had not been to battle. At the center of this seal is a Lion, symbolizing Courage; flanked by Ermine borders left and right, symbolizing Dignity; two Acorns representing Strength; bordered by sprays of Roses symbolizing Grace and Beauty; all topped with a luxuriously feminine Bow. The lady for whom this seal was made, would have been considered strong of character, dignity and perseverance, able to resolve situations, as well as a protector of others and someone who was able to give life.
Yes, this ring really packs a ton of meaning into one small, yet precious piece! Set in our Bow setting - to pay homage to the bow on the seal - this ring is sure to check all the boxes on your personal talisman list. Feminine yet fierce on the hand, let it be your signature power ring!
